Many of us as Christians are struggling because of the sin in our lives. We think we have to overcome our sin or sins before God will use us. We simply do not understand that God is no longer dealing with sin. We focus on sins. God focuses on life. God forgave us of our sins because of the Blood of Christ. God dealt with the source of our sin by our co-crucifixion with Christ on the cross. But for some reason we only associate the cross of Christ with forgiveness.
But read Romans 6:6, Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Christ that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. This means that the power that sin had over us in broken by our union with Christ on the cross. Now read Romans 6:11-13, Likewise, reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Let not sin, therefore, reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
God now wants to deal in your life as your life. He is there to deal in issues of life, not sin. Simply yielding to God through Jesus Christ will produce the life we have been called to.
Start today to focus on Christ as life. Don't worry about the sin in your life. Yield to God. Christ will live your life for you and your life will become full of glory. This is the Christian life. Christ in me (us) is my (our) hope of Glory, Colossians 1:27. This does not mean that we can sin and not worry about it, read all of Romans 6. If we yield to God, we simply will not sin. As Christ lives in us He lives a righteous, holy life.
Now read Galatians 2:20, I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me.
