Christian Artist

Blog of Fred Galloway. I am a Christian Artist who wants to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through art and bible study. I enjoy oil and acrylic painting, pottery and digital photography. I also want to share to Christians what I have discovered about Christ's indwelling. Christ in us is the hope of Glory, Christ living through us is the revelation of that Glory.

This painting is of the wild horses of Shackleford Banks. I had taken the ferry over to Cape Lookout because I wanted to photograph the Cape Lookout lighthouse so I could paint it. As we were sailing past Shackleford Banks I could see the horses as they were grazing. From a distance it appeared as if they were standing on water. As we got closer I could see the small flat grassy islands that the horses were standing on. It is a very interesting sight. So the next day I took the ferry over to Shackleford Banks and spent the day photographing the island and the horses. I was able to get within 30 yards or so of the horses. The lead stallion would always position himself between me and his mares. He keep a eye on me of course I keep an eye on him. It was a wonderful trip. This painting grew out of that experience.

If you wish you may view my other paintings on my website: www.fredgalloway.com
